In the artistic world, the theme of “inventory” is not covered; either because it is difficult to cover, because of the apathy or because of the belief that memory has superpowers.
Artistic processes do not usually follow static steps, since they vary depending on the complexity of each created piece and the artistic area. Therefore, the creation of these atypical patterns seems distant from current programs.
When researching inventory software in the market, we see there are certain fields or processes that do not cover at all or that do it vaguely or under a too administrative prism – according to the opinions of the interviewees-, or that directly do not cover.
In the interviews, the general comments were around the difficulty of inventorying such a quantity and variety of materials that are used in the many projects or pieces which are developed. In addition, the need to be able to customize the classification of the different materials and the process folders was highlighted. At the end of the interview, we asked the participants to ma a card sorting with the categories of inventory and materials they would include.
We saw the potential to combine existing software with the needs outlined by interviewees. Under the technique of S.C.A.M.P.E.R. we would find the solution to the root problem.

For that, it had to hinge around not creating extra internal levels to the application and creating a series of visual accesses to important data and notifications.
In the flows created, by the interviews, the following flows are fixed as those of greater interest:
- Access to inventory, material stock, alert management and ordering.
- Introduction of new inventory material and checking of updated inventory.
